Let's talk vision here
So I've been thinking.
At first I thought, being really professional in how I present myself and my products would be the best way to approach this. And yes - it probably would be good to do this.
But I honestly don't feel like writing like "I" was a "we".
"Email us with your concerns, and we'll get right back to you"...
That doesn't feel right. Feels like I am lying. Putting up some anonymous facade.
So I decided to go with a different approach. It's clear that I wanna run this whole thing as my authentic self.
In the beginning I had a banner up at the top of my website saying: "One day this will be a big mess of my ideas - which you can buy. For now - a single design, three colors. wooow... more to come...". I think this sums up the vision that started to develop here pretty well. But I don't know how do you feel about banners. I really like websites that have as little as possible on them. I mean, it's bad enough already, that Shopify requires me to ask you guys for your precious cookies. I don't wanna add to the bloat.
And yet - this banner I had up there really got me thinking about so many things I could sell here.
Now E-Commerce "Professionals" will probably be thinking "What in the world is this guy doing here? Does he really expect this to go well? Shouldn't you define your brand just a tiny little bit better?"
Yeah. I should.
My brand: I am David and I do my thing. If you like what you see, you can order it to your doorstep. That's it.
All my life I have struggled with juggling too many interests. Way too many. But honestly - I feel like there's a fairly considerable group of people who can very well relate to this. My hope is, that this radical authenticity and honesty resonates with some of you folks out there.
I really like writing, so parallel to my shop I will see to it that this blog get's regular updates. Might talk about faith, philosophy, physics or fantasy. Or something that doesn't start with an [f]-phonetic.
You can stick around for this wild ride. Until then -
peace out
Dave
